Gennaro Desiderio

A dancer with international experience on several renowned stages, he trained at I.S.I.S. Boccioni Palizzi in Naples, graduating in 2021 with the highest possible marks. In parallel he studied at the Mary Fusco Foundation, focusing on classical ballet, modern, contemporary and Spanish dance.

He continued professional training at the Bavarian Ballet Academy in Munich, refining his classical technique, classical repertoire, contemporary and character dance. With Ballet Arabesque in Sofia he performed several solo roles, including Kai in The Snow Queen, the Nutcracker and the Prince in The Nutcracker, and solo parts in Carmina Burana and Thus Spoke Zarathustra. He has appeared as a guest artist with the State Opera Plovdiv in Bulgaria, and began his professional career with Ballet Napoli under Mary Fusco.

He has received several international scholarships, including the White Lodge Summer Intensive 2018 at the Royal Ballet School in London and a 2019 scholarship for the summer course at Palucca University of Dance in Dresden. Throughout his career he has taken part in many workshops and elite courses led by renowned teachers from around the world.

A new addition to Slovenské Divadlo Tanca, he appears in Zvonár u Matky Božej (The Hunchback of Notre Dame) as the Captain and has also learned the modern ballet AMADEUS, which premiered earlier this year.
